A Prayer For Stellan

If you have a moment, please say a prayer. Say a prayer for Stellan, aka Mckmuffin, the youngest child of Prince Charming and Mckmama, a blogger at http://www.mycharmingkids.net/. Stellan is a cardiac kid, diagnosed in utero with a congenital heart defect. I don’t know Stellan’s entire story, but Mckmama wrote on her blog:

“…he was diagnosed with heart failure, suffering from Supraventricular Tachycardia, hydrops and heart block. At 24 weeks the doctors told us that our gravely ill unborn baby would surely die. We chose to give our son completely to God who surprised us with Stellan's miraculous recovery: our son was born healthy! MckMuffin began to suffer from SVT again at 4 months, was additionally diagnosed with PFO, a hole in his heart, and had a partially successful heart procedure performed at 5 months. Whether the future holds more surgeries or a pacemaker for our miracle boy, we don't know. But God does and we trust Him no matter what He decides.”

As I read through Mckmama’s blog, I see her answering the most frequently asked question in the same manner that we did when Captain Chaos was the cardiac kid in intensive care in the hospital. The most frequently asked question by family and friends is, “What can we do for you?” The answer is, “Please say a prayer.” I might add, say a dozen. Say them often. And get as many people as you can to pray.

The love and support and offers of help in a situation such as Stellan’s are a comfort for parents. Prayers are a pillar of strength for enduring those difficult times. You can follow the daily updates on Stellan’s progress through the link on my sidebar, or by visiting http://www.mycharmingkids.net/.

“Heavenly Father, You are intimately aware of Stellan’s struggle. You know the desire of our hearts that Stellan is healed of his illness. I ask now for Your healing touch. I know that You are able and that just like in Bible times, You can heal him.

“I also understand that You will chose what is best for Stellan. I pray that through this trial, we will draw close to You -- that You will be our comfort and strength. I pray that ultimately, whatever happens, You will be glorified through us. Your will be done. I pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.”

I just stumbled upon this blog today myself. Makes you want to go hug your own, doesn't it?

I've not read any blogs for about a week, so I was catching up on your last few entries. Cannot believe that you put my tee-shirt suggestion up for voting! I thought I told you I was kidding!!!!

I enjoyed your WW entry, and the pics of the Captain are cute as always.
