Looking Forward To Spring

The official flower of the United States is

the rose.

The official Kansas State Flower is

the sunflower.

The official flower of the Arby house is

the orange Nerf dart.

You find them popping up all over the carpet in every room of the house. That’s because it is not uncommon to walk through a fusillade of dart bullets in the endless dart gun wars that ravage our household each day.

We’ve also discovered that size and power don’t always matter in dart gun wars, because a simple

six shooter in dad’s hands is far deadlier than

a high powered assault rifle with a large clip in the hands of General Mayhem.

That’s because

dad knows how to aim!

I'm shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, to see that such violence goes on in Bedlam. Tut tut.

(And yes, that counts as snark, Grasshopper.)

LOL! Old age and treachery win out every time. I see it here often...

Of COURSE I shall stop by to comment! I have to say...I think our boys would get along famously. We got one of them the machine dart gun for Christmas. They enjoy aiming it at the cat. Oddly enough, the cat--who thinks she's a dog--does not seem to mind and, in fact, chases after the darts after she dodges them.

A little tip: if you use marshmallow guns, boys will actually clean up after each battle. Boys don't mind eating marshmallows off the floor.

Spring is my favorite time of year. It used to be fall. Must be a function of age.

I was going to leave a comment about marshmallow guns but Papa Bear beat me to it.

I think my son owns every nerf gun there is. We have this going on at our place, too. Tons of fun-especially when it's a bunch of kids & parents, too. lol Holly

LOL! With a house full of boys, I can assure you we own that same assortment of firearms and ammunition.

My boy discovered that removing the suction cups from the darts makes them small enough to load into the magazine of the assault weapon. Fun times.

Did your son ever recover from his Dart-induced coma?
