The Dog’s in the Dungeon

Dog’s in the Dungeon
(sung to the tune of Cat’s in the Cradle)

She came home from work just the other day
“Before I forget, I’ve got something to say.
Spoke with Bobby and Sue, they’re goin’ away for awhile,
It’s a long drive, rolling mile after mile.
So we’re watching their dogs this Thanksgiving day,
While they go off to play, hon,
You know they’re gonna go and play.”

Oh, the cat’s in Alaska and the dog’s on a farm
The chickens live out back in a miniature barn
“When you pickin’ up your pets?”
“Arb, I don’t know when,
But we’ll get Fido and Fifi then, Arb,
You know we’ll pick up both dogs then.”

They came to our house last Wednesday
A four-legg’d dust mop and a lab that plays
They ran through the house with the Big Fuzzy Rock
Snappin’ up table scraps like an ol’ hungry croc
Then they all went to sleep at the end of the day
Tuckered-out from so much play, dogs,
They were tired from so much play

Oh, the cat’s in Alaska and the dog’s on a farm
The chickens live out back in a miniature barn
“When you pickin’ up your pets?”
“Arb, I don’t know when,
But we’ll get Fido and Fifi then, Arb,
You know we’ll pick up both dogs then.”

Doin’ last minute cleaning on Thanksgiving Day
I was dustin’ book shelves in the usual way
When I smelled a strange smell that reeked a bit of wee
Comin’ off the side of my dictionary
It’s now a thirty-two pound saturated mess
And it’s not much assistance to me, no
Now the book's not much use to me

Oh, the cat’s in Alaska and the dog’s on a farm
The chickens live out back in a miniature barn
“When you pickin’ up your pets?”
"Arb, I don’t know when,
But we’ll get Fido and Fifi then, Arb,
You know we’ll pick up both dogs then.”

It was the little dust mop, of that there is no doubt
And when I saw the mess I let out a shout
The Shih Tzu is really a worthless dog
I’d rather give room and board to a pot-bellied hog
And if he makes it home alive that’s proof there is a God
He’d be dead if it were up to me,
This house is pure insanity!

Oh, the cat’s in Alaska and the dog’s on a farm
The chickens live out back in a miniature barn
I’m closing the doors to this pet motel
I don’t handle dog urine well, no
On my shelves, I don’t handle it well

That's hilarious! Okay, not so much about your dictionary. But the song is funny!

I'm extremely impressed with your rhyming ability!

This made me laugh, though I would have been pretty upset about the pee on the dictionary and other books.

Too funny! But I think you may have ruined that song for me....
