The Perfect Christmas Album

What song(s) would you put on your perfect Christmas Album? I started thinking of my perfect album playlist while mudding General Mayhem’s new basement bedroom. Two weeks ago we had an emergency egress window installed in the basement. Since then I have been building a closet and hanging sheet rock. I’m not certain if it was the Christmas music on the radio (my portable radio is so old and so broken that I cannot get half of the stations on the dial-but the Boss gave it to me 15 years ago and I won’t part with it) or the white mud I was spreading on the wall or both, but my mind wandered to my favorite Christmas recordings.

My top four picks are:

“God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” by The Barenaked Ladies with Sarah McLachlan

“Good King Wenceslas” by Mel Torme

“(It Must’ve Been Ol’) Santa Clause” by Harry Connick Jr.

“Christmas Festival” by Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops Orchestra

What should I add to this list?

I'm partial to an odd sort of Christmas music...but If I had to pick just a few... I'd have: "I'll be Home for Christmas" - Amy Grant's version is my fave (Because I can nail it when I sing along)

"Rockin' around the Christmas Tree"
and
"I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas"

I applaud the Harry Connick, Jr. song. It's one of my favorites. And now that I'm thinking of Christmas music, I'm sure I'll come up with more...but I'll go link hop through YouTube and get my fix. Otherwise, I might be here all night.

I cannot even think Christmas yet.

The first two that come to mind are "Come On Ring Those Bells" be Evie and "Carol of the Bells" by almost anyone, although Trans-Siberian Orchestra seems to be the most popular one these days.

I might have some more come to mind after Thanksgiving. I'm not in Christmas music mode yet.

I second Straight No Chaser's 12 Days. I loved it so much I got the DVD of the concert!

Humor the Puerto Rican and add "Feliz Navidad" to the playlist. :o)

I also love the Boston Pops "Sleigh Ride"

Peace and Laughter!

"O Holy Night" by John Berry is my personal favorite. He has a wonderful voice.

We have two radio stations so far that are totally Christmas music. I love it, but the kids are screaming "no" everytime that they get into the car!

If you've ever been to Branson and heard Keith Allen (aka Red Neckers) sing O Holy Night, you'd be sure to add it to your list. No one sings it like he does.
